NDC open to politicians displaced by party crises — Dickson

The senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Seriake Dickson, has said the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is ready to receive politicians searching for a stable and credible political platform as shifts continue within Nigeria’s political space.

The NDC, recently registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has begun building momentum following Dickson’s formal alignment with the party and the rollout of its digital membership registration system in March.

Dickson explained that the party is targeting Nigerians dissatisfied with existing political structures, as well as politicians displaced by internal conflicts in their former parties. He described the NDC as a movement built on ideas, service, and a commitment to doing politics differently, adding that its rapid growth is already drawing attention across the country.

“Our party is available for all Nigerians who are now helpless and desirous of a change. The NDC is also available to all politicians who are stranded as a result of the political developments in the country, who need a platform that is clean and unencumbered with any political crisis,” he said.

He further called on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to support the party, expressing confidence that its rise reflects a broader demand for change and cannot be halted.

Dickson’s remarks come against the backdrop of leadership disputes within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which recently faced regulatory action due to ongoing litigation.

He also dismissed criticism from Umar Ardo, describing it as unfounded. According to Dickson, Ardo had prior knowledge of the party’s registration process and challenges, insisting that the NDC bears no responsibility for disputes linked to other political groups or their legal battles.
