Osun decides: APC officials raise BVAS concerns in Modakeke

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, has raised concerns over the shortage of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines at a polling unit in Modakeke, Osun State.

Olabisi said only one BVAS machine was available at Ward 3, Unit 25, Ifelodun, Modakeke, despite the large turnout of voters, adding that the situation was slowing down the accreditation process.

He also complained about inadequate ink for thumbprinting and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to address the challenges.

Also speaking at the polling unit, the Osun State Commissioner for Transport, Sesan Oyedele, said the only available BVAS machine was malfunctioning.

“Despite the large turnout, the only BVAS here is not working well. The network is bad, and you can see that our people have come out to vote,” Oyedele said.

The two APC officials said the turnout demonstrated residents’ willingness to participate in the election.

They appealed to INEC to provide a backup BVAS machine and address the shortage of ink to speed up accreditation and enable more voters to cast their ballots within the stipulated period.
