The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has appointed Asiwaju (Barrister) Yemi Aderibigbe as the Director-General of his campaign council ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The appointment was announced in a statement personally signed by Alli on Tuesday and made available to journalists in Ibadan.

According to the APC candidate, the decision was based on Aderibigbe’s leadership experience, political capacity and strong grassroots connection across Oyo State.

Alli described Aderibigbe as a selfless political leader with a long record of people-oriented service, grassroots mobilisation and commitment to the development of the state.

He also urged the former Akinyele Local Government chairman to deploy his political experience and knowledge of the state to effectively coordinate the party’s campaign activities.

Furthermore, the senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District described Aderibigbe as one of the pillars of progressive politics in Oyo State, citing his loyalty to the party and dedication to mentoring younger politicians.

Aderibigbe, a legal practitioner and grassroots politician, previously served as chairman of Akinyele Local Government Area and later as Special Adviser on Transport during the administration of the late Gov. Abiola Ajimobi.

Alli expressed confidence that Aderibigbe’s appointment would strengthen the APC campaign structure and provide effective coordination as the party prepares for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
