The Aseyin of Iseyin, His Imperial Majesty Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola Adeyeri II, on Wednesday, paid a courtesy visit to the Oluwo of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi Telu I.

The historic visit took place at the Oluwo’s palace in Iwo and was marked by cultural pageantry, including traditional drumming, the presentation of kolanuts, and libations offered in line with Yoruba royal customs.

Oba Akanbi warmly received the Aseyin and his entourage, which included chiefs and palace aides. The two monarchs engaged in private discussions focused on cultural preservation, grassroots governance, and collaborative efforts aimed at fostering peace and socio-economic growth across their respective domains.

Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola Adeyeri II was crowned in 2005 and hails from the Adeyeri royal house of Iseyin, one of the oldest and most historic towns in northern Oyo State.

As Aseyin, he has championed agricultural development—particularly in cashew and kola nut production—and has promoted educational opportunities through scholarships for indigent students.

Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi Telu I ascended the throne in 2015 and represents the Olagbegi dynasty of Iwo, a town renowned for its leatherworks and Islamic heritage.

Since his enthronement, the Oluwo has led several development projects, including road infrastructure improvements and interfaith dialogue initiatives, positioning Iwo as a beacon of progress in Osun State.
