Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo as the vice-chancellor of Lagos State University.

The appointment was disclosed on Wednesday in Lagos.

Badejo, a professor of Guidance and Counselling, succeeds Professor Ibijoke Olatunji-Bello, whose five-year tenure is coming to an end.

She was born on August 4, 1962, and has an academic background in Guidance and Counselling.

Badejo obtained her doctorate and Master of Education degrees in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos.

Her appointment places an experienced academic at the helm of affairs of the state-owned university as it continues to advance its teaching, research and institutional development programmes.

The new vice-chancellor is expected to provide academic and administrative leadership as LASU pursues its mandate of delivering quality tertiary education and contributing to human capital development in Lagos State.
