Sanwo-Olu hails APC victory in recent LG polls

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) on its sweeping victory in the local government elections held across Lagos State on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

In a press statement on Monday, the governor described the outcome as a testament to the trust and confidence Lagosians have in the APC’s leadership and grassroots development agenda.

“I have received with joy and gratitude the news of the resounding victory of our candidates in the local government elections held across Lagos State,” Sanwo-Olu said. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and to our party leaders, stakeholders, and loyal members on this overwhelming electoral success.”

He described the results as a reflection of the people’s belief in the APC’s vision and their support for continuity, progress, and people-centered governance. “Indeed, this victory belongs to the people of Lagos,” he added.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also congratulated all the newly elected chairmen and councillors, urging them to see their victory not as an end but as a call to service.

“This victory is a responsibility to deliver good governance, uplift our communities, and promote the welfare of every resident—regardless of political affiliation,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of accountability, urging the new officials to remain committed to inclusive development and transparent leadership at the grassroots level.

Sanwo-Olu concluded by reaffirming his administration’s support for local councils in implementing people-oriented policies that reflect the collective aspirations of Lagosians.
