Tinubu commissions Katampe road, urges residents to protect public infrastructure

President Bola Tinubu has said social and economic activities are gradually returning to normal in Abuja, while criminal hideouts are disappearing due to ongoing infrastructure and security improvements in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The President made the remarks on Friday during the commissioning of Collector Road CN2, a major road linking Arterial Road N16 and Arterial Road N20 in the Katampe District. Tinubu was represented at the event by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

According to the President, the newly completed road and associated infrastructure projects are helping to improve mobility, security and the quality of life for residents.

“We installed solar streetlights. Today, Katampe is safer at night. Abuja’s real life is coming back. Criminal hideouts are disappearing,” he said, adding that good governance should deliver “security, mobility and dignity” to citizens.

Tinubu described the road as a key link between the Katampe and Mabushi districts and said it would ease traffic congestion and improve access to homes, markets and businesses.

He said the project reflects the objectives of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, arguing that ongoing infrastructure development demonstrates that government is delivering tangible results.

“A road like CN2 is more than concrete. It is hope. It tells every Nigerian that government can deliver,” the President said.

Tinubu also commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for what he described as effective leadership and project delivery in the capital city.

“I gave him the assignment to make Abuja a true capital city, and he has not disappointed Nigerians,” the President said, praising Wike’s efforts in road construction, water projects and other public infrastructure initiatives.
