Tinubu pledges more infrastructure projects across FCT at commissioning of Kuje-Airport road

President Bola Tinubu has pledged to ensure that the benefits of development are extended to all parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), including satellite towns and rural communities, following the commissioning of the Kuje-Airport Expressway in Abuja.

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the ceremony on Thursday, Tinubu said his administration would continue to pursue infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity, economic activity and living conditions across the territory.

He described the airport corridor as a critical gateway to the country, noting that it shapes visitors’ first impressions of Nigeria and plays an important role in economic activity.

The President said the government would continue investing in roads, drainage systems, public facilities and municipal services while ensuring that development is not limited to Abuja’s city centre.

“We shall not rest until the dividends of democracy are equitably distributed across the territory, from the ceremonial heart of Abuja to the settlements that sustain its daily life,” he said.

Tinubu also stressed the importance of improving infrastructure in communities surrounding the airport, arguing that residents in such areas should benefit from the status of the nation’s capital.

He commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for overseeing the completion of the project, describing the road as part of efforts to make the capital more accessible and habitable.

The President further urged residents to protect public infrastructure, describing public assets as a shared responsibility between government and citizens.
