Poco Lee denies UK allegations, says he remained confident of innocence

Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has denied allegations against him, saying he remained confident throughout his recent ordeal in the United Kingdom because he knew he was innocent.

Poco Lee spoke during a video conversation with social commentator VeryDarkMan, who shared the recording on his Instagram page on Sunday. He said his major concerns during the period were the welfare of his associates and the effect of his situation on their businesses.

He said he would have accepted the situation as punishment if he had committed the alleged offences, but maintained that his conscience was clear because he knew he was innocent.

“If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure. Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago, and some of my other guys,” he said.

VeryDarkMan expressed support for Poco Lee and questioned reports about his situation in the UK, while acknowledging the support given to the dancer by singer Burna Boy and social media personality Rahman Jago.

The development comes amid conflicting reports online about the status of the criminal case against Poco Lee, including claims that he had been released from prison or that the complainant had withdrawn the case.

However, the Crown Prosecution Service said the case remained active and confirmed that Odinaka was scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing.

Odinaka is facing five sexual offence charges, including attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration. He has denied the allegations, and the charges remain before the court. He has not been convicted of any offence.
