The Osun State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, has recovered a stolen Toyota Matrix and six 42-inch LG televisions taken during a robbery at a hotel in Ode-Omu, Ayedaade Local Government Area.
According to the Corps spokesperson, Yusuf Abass, the recovery took place in Ogere, Ogun State, after a high-risk gun duel between the robbers and Amotekun operatives, supported by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogere Command.
Abass said the robbery happened in the early hours of Saturday when armed men attacked a hotel in Ode-Omu. The victims, who had traveled from Lagos for a funeral, were lodging at the hotel when the assailants struck. The robbers fled with a Toyota Matrix valued at about N7 million and six televisions worth over N3 million.

The victims quickly reported the incident to the Amotekun command in Ayedaade, prompting a joint operation by the local and state corps to track the culprits.
Intensified efforts by Amotekun forced the suspects to abandon the stolen vehicle and televisions in a bush near Ogere. Some of the robbers are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.
Confirming the development, Osun Amotekun Commander, Chief (Dr.) Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, said the operation demonstrated the corps’ dedication to protecting lives and property. He also acknowledged the support of FRSC Ogere Command in the recovery.
The recovered items were returned to Osogbo and handed over to their rightful owners on Monday by Amotekun Operations Commander, Olagunju Joseph, at the corps’ operational headquarters.
The owners, Mr. Olanrewaju Omololu and Mr. Oyelami Nurudeen, commended the Amotekun Corps for their swift response, noting that no money was demanded during the recovery. They urged residents to continue supporting the corps in its crime-fighting efforts.
