President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian Muslims and the global Muslim community on the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, calling on citizens to embrace the festival’s core values of sacrifice, devotion, resilience, and compassion.

In a statement released on Thursday by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Eid-el-Kabir as not only a time of joy but also a period of deep spiritual reflection. He urged Nigerians to draw inspiration from the exemplary faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

“To truly honour Eid, we must embody the virtues of sacrifice, devotion, and selflessness. This sacred occasion should renew our commitment to these ideals,” Tinubu said.

Acknowledging the economic hardships many Nigerians have endured in recent times, Tinubu reassured the nation that “the toughest days are behind us,” and expressed optimism that the bold reforms his administration has initiated are beginning to yield positive results.

“Though the journey has not been easy, and some doubted our direction, the resilience of public and private sector leaders, along with the steadfast support of Nigerians, is yielding results. We are entering a new era of renewed hope and prosperity,” he affirmed.

The President emphasized that the ongoing reforms aim not just to improve macroeconomic indicators but to transform lives and secure long-term prosperity for all Nigerians.

He also called for unity and empathy during the festive season, urging citizens to care for the vulnerable and to see beyond religious or ethnic divides.

President Tinubu also addressed recent national tragedies, including the flood disaster in Mokwa, Niger State, which claimed lives and destroyed property. He urged Nigerians to keep the victims in their prayers and support efforts to bring relief to affected communities.
