Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate, Gerard, has been evicted from the show, becoming the eighth housemate to leave the house this season.

Gerard’s eviction was announced by the show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, during the live eviction show on Sunday night.

His eviction came after he was nominated alongside 15 other housemates for possible eviction. Big Brother had saved only two housemates from the nominations for Week Six: Head of House Abi and Most Influential Housemate Sheba, leaving the others at risk of eviction.

Gerard’s time in the Big Brother house was marked by his strong presence in the competition, including coming close to winning the Head of House title on several occasions. He was defeated by Abi in the final round of the Week Six Head of House challenge.

His eviction followed those of Sultex and Goddessa in Week Five, leaving 15 housemates to compete for the N160 million grand prize in the “Everything Is for Taking” competition, also known as the “Show Ya Sef” season.

Following his eviction, Gerard, who entered the house as an on-air personality, joined Ebuka on stage and reflected on his experience. He expressed gratitude for the platform and said he planned to continue building his career in acting, broadcasting and content creation.

Meanwhile, Barry emerged as the Most Influential Housemate of the week. However, his emergence came with a twist, as Big Brother denied him immunity from next week’s eviction, contrary to the pattern since the category was introduced.

In a related development, Nomy emerged as the Benchwarmer of the week, a position she has held several times during the show. The position comes with a punishment, which Nomy has often evaded, leading to frequent confrontations with other housemates and stricter sanctions from Biggie.
