I never wanted P-Square comeback, our reunion was fake — Mr P

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has said he never intended to revive P-Square, describing the group’s widely celebrated 2021 reunion as a “fake reunion”.

Speaking in a recent video shared on Instagram, Mr P said his only goal was to restore his relationship with his twin brother, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), and not reunite as a music duo.

The brothers, who split in 2017, reunited in 2021 before falling out again amid fresh disputes involving their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

Mr P said the reconciliation began after he returned from Atlanta and learnt that Paul had apologised and was seeking forgiveness.

He recalled that they eventually embraced after he was encouraged to make the second move, but insisted he immediately told Paul he had no plans to bring back P-Square.

“I told him we are back as brothers, but I am not part of P-Square,” he said.

He added that although they later recorded a reunion video at Jude’s suggestion, he never believed in reviving the group.

Mr P maintained that restoring family ties had always been his priority, saying he never wanted P-Square to return.
