‘I sell original designers from U.S.’ – Actor Sylvester Madu

Nollywood actor Sylvester Madu has debunked claims that he sells “okrika” (second-hand clothes), insisting that all his wares are quality, original designer items imported from the United States.

In a recent interview, the actor clarified that he has been in the business of selling original clothes and designs for over 30 years.

He explained that the fact the clothes he was seen selling in a viral video were placed on the floor does not mean they were second-hand.

“I don’t sell okrika. Those clothes I was filmed selling are not okrika just because they were on the floor,” he said. “I import my goods from the U.S.”

Madu added that he owns multiple shops run by his workers and is actively involved in the business himself.

“I don’t act like a big man—I go to the field and sell myself. I’ve been doing this business for over 30 years. I monitor my business, and I have many people selling for me in different shops,” he said.

His response comes after a viral video from 2023 showed him selling clothes on the floor of a market in Enugu.
