JUST IN: Farmer kills self with sniper

A middle-aged man identified as Baba Apana has reportedly taken his own life after consuming the deadly Sniper insecticide in Eleyewo, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Residents said the deceased, believed to be in his mid-50s, left home for his farm on Tuesday without his mobile phone, only to be later found dead.

He was said to have bought a bottle of Sniper around Ilu Abo before heading to his farm, where his lifeless body was discovered hours later.

As of the time of filing this report, the reason behind his action remained unclear.

The deceased, a native of Ogoja in Cross River State, had reportedly lived in the area for many years and was a father of three.
