JUST IN: Woman arrested over alleged chicken theft in Ado-Ekiti

A middle-aged woman, whose identity was not disclosed, has been arrested for allegedly stealing chickens in the Olorunda Zone 1 area of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

The suspect was reportedly apprehended early on Wednesday after residents caught her with a large number of chickens believed to have been stolen from the neighbourhood.

A viral video circulating on social media and obtained by Western Post showed the woman surrounded by angry residents during interrogation shortly after she was caught in the area.

Residents said the suspect had been arrested the previous day in the Olorunsogo area for a similar offence and was handed over to security operatives for investigation before she was later released.

They added that she was caught again barely 24 hours later in Olorunda, allegedly with another batch of stolen chickens.
