Makinde set to unveil APM presidential campaign council

Oyo State Governor and the Allied People’s Movement (APM) presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, Seyi Makinde, will on Friday inaugurate the party’s Oyo State Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council as preparations intensify ahead of the polls.
The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to hold at the conference room of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan and is expected to bring together party leaders, government officials and campaign stakeholders who will coordinate the party’s activities across the state.
According to the campaign structure released by the party, the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Nureni Adeniran, has been appointed to serve in a dual capacity as the Oyo State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign and the Director-General of the Oyo State Governorship Campaign Council.
Former Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Saheed Arowosaye, popularly known as AROSAD, has also been appointed as the Deputy State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Demola Ojo, will serve as Deputy Director-General for Oyo South, while Dr Femi Ojo and Alhaji Siju Lawal have been named Deputy Directors-General for Oyo Central and Oyo North Senatorial Districts respectively.
Also named into the campaign structure are Ramata Agberemi Dabo, who will head the Women’s Wing, and former Special Assistant on Youth to Governor Makinde, Kazeem Bolarinwa, has been appointed Director of the Youth Wing.
The party said more appointments into both the presidential and governorship campaign councils would be announced in due course as consultations continue to strengthen its campaign machinery and expand its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election.
Seyi Makinde announced his presidential bid on May 14, 2026, after serving as Oyo State governor since 2019, positioning himself as the Action People’s Party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
