A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chief Executive Officer of Midas Communications Ltd, Kehinde Olaosebikan, has commended Senate Majority Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, for his leadership role in the 10th Senate as the National Assembly marks its third anniversary.
In a statement issued on Friday, Olaosebikan described Bamidele as the “engine room” of the Senate, crediting him with helping to drive legislative business and sustain stability within the upper chamber since its inauguration in 2023.
He said the senator representing Ekiti Central has leveraged his legal background and parliamentary experience to facilitate the passage of key legislation, including the Electricity Act, the Student Loans Act, tax reform measures and annual appropriation bills.
According to Olaosebikan, Bamidele’s ability to build consensus and manage complex legislative issues has strengthened the effectiveness of the Senate and contributed to the smooth conduct of its affairs.
He also praised the senate majority leader for promoting cooperation between the executive and legislative arms of government while ensuring strict adherence to parliamentary procedures and democratic principles.
The APC stalwart further described Bamidele as a stabilising force within the 10th Senate, noting that his engagement with lawmakers across political divides has helped maintain harmony in a chamber comprising members from different parties and regions.
Beyond his legislative responsibilities, Olaosebikan said Bamidele has remained committed to the development of his constituency through interventions in road infrastructure, education, healthcare, scholarship programmes and support for small-scale enterprises.
As the Senate prepares to commence its fourth year, Olaosebikan expressed confidence in Bamidele’s capacity to continue providing leadership on critical national issues, including constitutional reforms, security challenges and economic development, describing his tenure as a reflection of legislative competence, political maturity and commitment to national progress.
