Ondo APC begins reconciliation after National Assembly primaries

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a reconciliation drive to reunite aggrieved members following the party’s National Assembly primaries.

As part of the initiative, the state APC leadership, led by Chairman Babatunde Kolawole, visited former Deputy Governor Otunba Omolade Oluwateru to seek his support in fostering unity within the party.

Kolawole urged Oluwateru to use his political influence and experience to reconcile party members ahead of the 2027 general elections and mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

He described the former deputy governor as a respected party leader whose contributions remain invaluable, adding that disagreements arising from party primaries should not undermine the APC’s unity.

The chairman said the party had constituted a reconciliation committee to engage dissatisfied members across the state and restore harmony after the primaries.

Responding, Oluwateru commended the party leadership for initiating the reconciliation process, describing the move as timely and necessary to strengthen the APC ahead of future elections.

The former deputy governor, who served under the late Gov. Olusegun Agagu, said he joined the APC to support Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 and reaffirmed his loyalty to the party.

He also urged members to rally behind Gov. Aiyedatiwa as the leader of the APC in Ondo State and pledged to work with the reconciliation committee to promote peace and secure victory for the party in future elections.
