The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has officially inaugurated a reconciliation committee to address internal grievances, strengthen party unity and position the party for the 2027 general elections.
The committee was inaugurated during a meeting at the party secretariat in Akure by the state APC Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, in the presence of party leaders, members of the elders’ forum and other stakeholders.
Babatunde said the committee reflected the party leadership’s resolve to promote internal democracy, reconcile aggrieved members and foster inclusiveness across all levels of the APC in the state.
He said, “The establishment of this committee demonstrates our determination to heal every perceived grievance, strengthen internal democracy and ensure that every member has a sense of belonging. The APC remains one united family whose collective interest is greater than individual ambitions.”
The chairman also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to securing over one million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, while expressing confidence that the APC would also win all elective positions in the state.
Responding, the Chairman of the Reconciliation Committee, Prince Biyi Poroye, thanked Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the state party leadership for the confidence reposed in the committee, assuring members that it would carry out its assignment with fairness and impartiality.
Poroye said, “We will engage every stakeholder without prejudice and ensure that every issue affecting the unity and progress of our party receives adequate attention. Fairness, truth, justice, equity and genuine reconciliation will guide our work, and no genuine member of the APC will be neglected.”
Also speaking, APC chieftain Jamiu Ekungba commended the party’s leadership for setting up the committee, urging members across the state to embrace peace and unity. He expressed optimism that the committee’s work would strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 elections and enhance its chances of recording victories at all levels.
