Concerned Muslim stakeholders and the League of Alfas in Osun State have declared support for Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Speaking during a Ramadan lecture and distribution of Ramadan packages organised by the group, the President of Concerned Muslim Stakeholders and League of Alfas in the state, Sheikh Qozeem Abdul Rahaman, said Muslims must reciprocate what they described as the generosity extended to the Muslim Ummah by President Tinubu, noting that continued support for him would encourage further initiatives for Osun State and the country.

“As we stand on the precipice of an election year here in Osun State, it is imperative that we remember our duty as Muslims to reciprocate the generosity that has been extended to us. Our unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu will undoubtedly encourage him to continue his benevolent initiatives for Osun State and the nation at large,” he said.

Abdul Rahaman also canvassed votes for Oyebamiji, describing him as a proven and reliable Muslim leader deserving their unequivocal support and confidence.

He added, “For the sustainability of programs such as this, initiated by our President, we must ensure that our votes are cast for candidates who align with our faith—those who genuinely represent us, not for individuals who traverse religious boundaries.”

Also speaking, Oyebamiji stated that his governorship ambition would not rely on Federal might, noting that his campaign had already carried out consultations across all 30 local government areas and the area offices of the state, including traditional rulers and stakeholders.

According to him, “We are working and will continue to work here until we have the opportunity to be the Governor of Osun State. There is nothing like Federal might; we have to do our work and deliver with good character and behaviour to men, women, and every citizen of Osun.”

Oyebamiji also urged residents of the state to visit the offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in their wards to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that the card remains the only instrument capable of changing the current government.
