Chief Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, a prominent chief, philanthropist, and governorship aspirant in Oyo State has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a resignation letter, Adegoke cited “intractable political crisis and problems within the PDP” as the driving force behind his defection.
He warned that ongoing internal disputes could undermine the ambitions of loyal party members, hence why he made his exit.
Despite leaving the PDP, Adegoke expressed gratitude to party members in Ward 10 for their support and collaboration during his tenure.
The influential Ibadan chief, who also chairs Solutions 93.3 FM and serves as the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, disclosed that he will be pursuing his gubernatorial ambition under the ADC platform.
As of the time of reporting, the PDP leadership in Oyo State is yet to issue an official statement on Adegoke’s resignation.
