The 2025 Oyo Youth Summit, held on Tuesday in Ibadan, brought together a vibrant mix of young innovators, thought leaders, and visionaries in a dynamic exchange aimed at empowering the next generation and shaping a progressive future.
The event was graced by the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Seyi Makinde, who reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to youth development. In his address, the governor emphasized the importance of education, entrepreneurship, and inclusive governance as tools for unlocking the full potential of Oyo’s youth.
The summit also featured keynote addresses from notable figures, including Dr. (Mrs.) Victoria A. Samson, Managing Director of BOVAS Petroleum, and former football legend and media personality, Segun Odegbami. Both speakers shared powerful messages encouraging innovation, resilience, and purpose-driven leadership among young Nigerians.

Two engaging panel sessions anchored the summit, with insightful contributions from public figures and professionals such as Ibrahim Chatta, Dr. Adekunbi Omotoso, Seyi Gbadebo, Ayo Adam, Adejoke Lasisi, Victor Dideoluwa, Dr. Stephen Ajadi, Dr. Afeez Oyetoro, Akinyoola Ayoola (Kamo State), Joshua Oyeniyi, and Yomi Fash-Lanso. The sessions were moderated by media personality Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kie Kie.
The summit also celebrated creativity and youth expression through a series of live performances by talented young artists, adding vibrancy and energy to the event.

Awards of excellence were presented to distinguished individuals for their contributions to youth development and leadership. Members of the Oyo State Executive Cabinet were also recognized for their support and participation.

In a joint statement, the organizers expressed gratitude to all volunteers, facilitators, performers, and partners for their roles in making the summit a resounding success. “We remain committed to building platforms that amplify youth voices and drive sustainable change,” the statement read.
