Vice President Kashim Shettima has reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to restoring peace and stability across Nigeria amid ongoing security challenges.
Shettima made the remarks in Abuja after attending a special Jum’aat prayer at the National Mosque to mark Democracy Day celebrations, where he urged Nigerians to intensify prayers for peace, unity, and national progress.
He assured citizens that the administration remains focused on ending insecurity and securing the release of persons held by bandits and terrorist groups.
The Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Haroun Eze, earlier urged Nigerians to remain patriotic and support efforts to address insecurity, calling on leaders to take decisive action for peace and national development.
The Democracy Day prayer event in Abuja was attended by top government officials, including the chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, minister of information Mohammed Idris, minister of marine and blue economy Gboyega Oyetola, and former Kano State governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
