Sanwo-Olu praises residents in anniversary message, pledges more development

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commended residents of the state for their support and cooperation over the past seven years of his administration, describing the period as a journey of shared sacrifice, resilience, and collective progress.

In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor said the achievements recorded by his administration would not have been possible without the trust and partnership of Lagosians.

Sanwo-Olu said his administration began seven years ago with a clear vision of building a greater Lagos that works for all residents. According to him, the government has made significant progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, transportation, youth empowerment, and urban renewal projects across the five divisions of the state.

The governor noted that despite global economic challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and other social pressures, his administration remained committed to implementing the THEMES+ Agenda aimed at sustainable growth and development.

He reassured residents that his government would continue to complete ongoing projects while also initiating new ones that would directly improve the lives of citizens. He added that more attention would be given to road construction, affordable housing, healthcare delivery, quality education, and security.

“As we mark this seventh anniversary, I want to assure Lagosians that the best is yet to come. We will not rest on our oars. We will do more in providing quality roads, affordable housing, reliable healthcare, world-class education, and a secure environment where businesses can thrive,” the governor said.

Sanwo-Olu also called on residents to continue supporting government policies and programmes geared toward sustainable development. He urged the private sector and development partners to deepen collaboration with the state government in order to achieve greater progress.

The governor further praised President Bola Tinubu, saying the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President has contributed significantly to the success recorded in Lagos in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and empowerment. He concluded by appreciating civil servants, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders, and leaders of the All Progressives Congress for their contributions to the growth and development of Lagos State.
