Segun Odusanya emerges Head of Service in Ondo

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of Chief Segun Odusanya as the new Head of Service of the state.

The appointment takes effect from June 6, 2026, according to a statement issued on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan.

Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service, Mr Bayo Philips, for his contributions to the development of the state’s public service during his tenure and wished him a fulfilling retirement.

The governor also urged Odusanya to bring his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening the civil service, improving service delivery and supporting the administration’s developmental agenda.

Chief Odusanya was born on February 6, 1967, to the family of Venerable and Mrs Emmanuel Odusanya. He attended St. Peter’s Primary School, Ile-Oluji, and later studied at Gboluji Anglican Grammar School for his secondary education.

He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1989 and subsequently earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies in 1992. He later obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Ado-Ekiti in 2000.

Odusanya joined the Ondo State Civil Service in 1995 and steadily rose through the ranks, attaining the position of Permanent Secretary in 2019. During his career, he served in key ministries, including Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Civil Service Commission, Transport, and Agriculture and Forestry.

A fellow of several professional bodies, Odusanya currently serves as Chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries in Ondo State. He is married to Lady Oluwatoyin Odusanya, and their union is blessed with three children.
