Tinubu’s 2027 campaign will focus on achievements, says Olusi

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Independent Campaign Group (PBAT ICG), Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, has said President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in 2027 will be anchored on the administration’s achievements since assuming office in May 2023.

Olusi stated this at a strategic stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos convened to mobilise support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the Tinubu administration has implemented far-reaching economic reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth, restoring fiscal discipline and creating a solid foundation for long-term economic prosperity.

He noted that the government has recorded improvements in revenue generation, increased allocations to states and local governments, renewed investor confidence and a gradual reduction in dependence on borrowing to fund recurrent expenditure.

Olusi said key policy decisions such as the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market, though initially challenging, were necessary reforms that have contributed to economic stability and attracted fresh investments into critical sectors of the economy.

He also highlighted initiatives including the Students Loan Scheme, Consumer Credit Scheme, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) programme, ongoing infrastructure projects, health sector reforms and renewed attention to agriculture and food security as evidence of the administration’s commitment to national development.

“President Tinubu’s 2027 campaign will not be built on empty promises but on concrete achievements that Nigerians can see and evaluate. The Renewed Hope Agenda is already yielding positive results, and more benefits will become evident as ongoing reforms mature,” Olusi said.

Speaking at the meeting, the convener of PBAT ICG, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, said the administration had intensified efforts to tackle insecurity, improve oil production and strengthen social investment programmes for vulnerable Nigerians. He urged members and supporters of the group across the country to continue mobilising support for President Tinubu and promoting the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda, while also backing Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat, as a potential successor in the state.
