Umahi’s 28-year-old son sworn in as Ohaozara council chairman

Osborn Nweze Umahi, the 28-year-old son of the Minister of Works and former Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has been sworn in as chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Osborn, a businessman and politician, took the oath of office on Tuesday following his victory in the recently concluded local government election in the state.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by political leaders, government officials and other dignitaries, including the Minister of Works, who witnessed his son’s formal assumption of office.

His emergence as council chairman has attracted attention, particularly because of his age and his entry into elective politics at the grassroots level.

The new chairman is expected to focus on development initiatives, youth empowerment, infrastructure and improved service delivery across Ohaozara during his tenure.

The swearing-in also marked a notable political moment for the Umahi family, with the minister present as his son formally assumed an elective position in Ebonyi State.
