The Students’ Union of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), has expressed deep sorrow over the death of two missing students and vowed to pursue justice on their behalf.

In a statement issued on Monday, July 14, 2025, the Union President, Comrade Akeem Ologbon, said the leadership had been involved in efforts to locate the missing students since the matter was first reported.

“The heartbreaking news has cast a shadow of sorrow across our entire academic community,” the statement read.

The union explained that it immediately engaged the appropriate security agencies upon learning of the students’ disappearance.

According to the statement, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Akure, the Nigerian Police Scorpion Squad, and other security formations across Ondo State were contacted during the search.

It also confirmed that the new Commissioner of Police in Ondo State was fully briefed and had treated the matter with utmost seriousness from the onset.

The union urged students to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information, assuring that all updates would be shared through official channels.

“This is a time of pain, confusion, and anger for all of us. But we must stay united and focused. The Union is fully committed to ensuring justice is served. No stone will be left unturned until the truth is uncovered and those responsible are held accountable.”
