Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress in the state to participate actively in the party’s presidential primary election scheduled for Saturday.
Aiyedatiwa, who is also serving as the APC Presidential Primary Election Returning Officer in Ondo State, urged party faithful across the 203 wards in the state to turn out en masse for the exercise.
In a statement issued on Friday, the governor said the primary election offered party members another opportunity to strengthen democracy and contribute to shaping the future of the country.
He noted that the strength of the APC remained rooted in the commitment and active participation of its members at all levels.
“The primary election provides us with another opportunity to shape the future of our nation and further strengthen the democratic ideals that unite us,” he said.
The governor appealed to members to approach the exercise with a strong sense of responsibility, stressing that every vote and opinion mattered to the continued growth of the party.
He also urged party supporters to conduct themselves peacefully and adhere strictly to the guidelines governing the exercise.
“Let us once again demonstrate the unity, discipline, and political maturity for which the APC in Ondo State is known,” Aiyedatiwa stated while wishing party members a peaceful and successful primary election.
