Ajibola denies misconduct claims over City Boy Movement exit

Chief Ahmed Ajibola has denied allegations that his resignation from the City Boy Movement in Oyo State was linked to misconduct, saying he voluntarily left the organisation after rejecting two appointments offered to him by its leadership.

Ajibola, in a statement, described reports circulating on some blogs as false and malicious, insisting that he was neither queried nor suspended or subjected to any disciplinary action before announcing his resignation.

Documents made available to journalists showed that he was first appointed coordinator, Directorate Affairs, following a reshuffle of the Oyo State Executive Council of the movement in a letter dated August 1, 2026, signed by the State Director, Hon. Olufemi Onireti.

A second appointment letter dated August 5, 2026, from the national leadership offered Ajibola the position of coordinator of Stakeholders’ Engagement for the South-West geopolitical zone for an initial 12-month tenure.

However, Ajibola said he rejected both appointments before submitting his resignation, arguing that the offers contradicted claims that he was forced out of the organisation over alleged misconduct.

He said, “The records speak for themselves,” adding that he was offered two positions within days before choosing to resign and that there was no disciplinary query, suspension or misconduct proceeding against him.

Ajibola urged members of the public to disregard what he described as unfounded reports aimed at damaging his reputation and called on those circulating the allegations to stop spreading false information.

The former state coordinator maintained that his relationship with members of the City Boy Movement remained cordial, reiterating that his decision to resign was voluntary and followed careful consideration of the appointments offered by the state and national leadership.
