APC reconciliation efforts yielding results, says Alli

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for the 2027 Oyo State election, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, says ongoing efforts to reconcile aggrieved members of the party are yielding positive results as the APC prepares for the next general election.
Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, made the remarks during a Nigerian Union of Journalists programme tagged “A Day with BSA,” where he also outlined his priorities for the first 100 days of his administration if elected governor.
He said restoring unity within the APC became one of his immediate priorities after emerging as the party’s governorship candidate, adding that he had met with former aspirants, members of the G-6 bloc and other stakeholders to foster reconciliation.
The senator also disclosed that President Bola Tinubu had engaged former APC governorship candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin, to support efforts aimed at reconciling aggrieved members and strengthening the party ahead of future elections.
Speaking on education, Alli pledged to restore quality public education by reducing class sizes to a maximum of 30 pupils, rehabilitating school infrastructure, providing free education from primary to secondary school and strengthening technical and vocational education.
He also said his administration would end the use of consultancy services in public schools, insisting that teachers and educational institutions should be adequately equipped to deliver quality education across the state.
On governance and security, Alli stressed that local government councils must function effectively to improve grassroots development and proposed biometric registration of all Oyo State residents, including fingerprint records, to enhance intelligence gathering and tackle crime.
He said party unity, quality education, security, youth empowerment and effective local government administration would form the foundation of his administration’s first 100 days in office, expressing confidence that the reforms would reposition Oyo State for sustainable growth.
