BBNaija’s Tram denies owing ₦400m over 2024 car crash

Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate, Tram, has denied reports that he owes ₦400 million in damages from a viral car crash in 2024, saying the vehicles involved belonged to a friend and were not rented as he had previously claimed.

The reality TV star made the clarification in a video interview that went viral on Monday, a day after he was unveiled as one of the housemates for the new season of the reality show.

Responding to the controversy, Tram dismissed claims that he was indebted to the tune of ₦400 million, insisting the reports were false.

“I do not owe ₦400 million. If I truly owed that kind of money, I probably wouldn’t be this relaxed. The accident happened, it wasn’t planned, and thankfully, no one died. People seem more concerned about the cars than the fact that everyone survived,” he said.

He also admitted that his earlier statement about the vehicles being rented was inaccurate, explaining that the Corvette belonged to a friend who was also involved in the accident. According to him, there are aspects of the incident he is not at liberty to discuss.

The crash occurred on September 14, 2024, when the 2022 Corvette Stingray Tram was driving reportedly lost control during a race, collided with a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and slammed into a concrete pole. He sustained head and jaw injuries, back pain and facial bruises, while no fatalities were recorded.

Days after the accident, Tram appealed for public support on Instagram, claiming the incident resulted in over ₦400 million in damages, including vehicle write-offs, hospital bills and property damage. At the time, he described the vehicles as rented, a claim he has now withdrawn.

His latest comments, which contradict his earlier account, have sparked debate on social media, with many users questioning the inconsistency between his previous appeal for donations and his current explanation.
