DJ Tunez breaks silence on clash with Burna Boy

Nigerian disc jockey, Michael Babatunde, popularly known as DJ Tunez, has broken his silence following reports of an alleged clash involving Afrobeats star Burna Boy at a party in Lagos.
In the early hours of Tuesday, videos circulating online showed Burna Boy and his crew engaging in a physical confrontation with DJ Tunez, who is also Wizkid’s official DJ. Reports have it that the incident occurred at the residence of nightlife entrepreneur, Obi Cubana.
An eyewitness claimed that the issue escalated into a physical confrontation, where DJ Tunez was overpowered by Burna Boy’s men after allegedly landing a punch on Burna Boy’s face. The tense atmosphere attracted the presence of security personnel, who took charge of the situation.
Neither Burna Boy nor Wizkid, who is a close associate of DJ Tunez, has officially responded to the claims. However, DJ Tunez posted shortly after the videos went viral, stating, “OGBAFIA NUMBER 1 DON WAKE OOO!”
DJ Tunez is a Nigerian-American disc jockey signed to Wizkid’s record label, Starboy Entertainment. He rose to prominence with his 2016 production, “Iskaba”, a contagiously upbeat track featuring Wande Coal. He has collaborated with artistes like Wizkid, Sarz, Burna Boy, Busiswa, Reekado Banks, Damibliz, Omah Lay, among others.
Damini Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, is a Nigerian musician who became prominent in 2012 after releasing “Like to Party”, the lead single from his debut studio album L.I.F.E (2013).
In 2017, he signed a record deal with Atlantic Records and its parent company, Warner Music Group. His third studio album, Outside, which became his major label debut, was released in 2018.
