Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday said his administration is extending basic infrastructure to all parts of the state, citing hundreds of kilometres of rural roads that are either ongoing or completed.
He stated that no part of the state should be denied access to essential infrastructure, including road networks, reiterating his government’s commitment to inclusive growth.
The governor made the remarks in Tsaragi, Edu Local Government Area, during an inspection visit to the 1.7-kilometre Tsaragi–Ndafa road currently under construction.
According to him, about 50 per cent of the project has been completed, with ongoing work on hydraulic structures and drainage systems, expressing optimism that the road will be delivered soon.
“No community should be left behind in the provision of infrastructure. That is why our development efforts cut across the entire state,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the visit on Tuesday evening.
“As you can see, this is one of the communities many people may think should not have access to such infrastructure, but we are ensuring that resources reach every part of the state so that people can benefit and enjoy improved road connectivity,” he added.
He noted that the contractor handling the project has made significant progress and has assured the government of timely completion.
Earlier, the governor received a technical briefing on the project from the site engineer, Engr. Owode Adebayo, noting that the road will enhance connectivity among farming communities within the Tsaragi Emirate.
