Lagos govt, Naija Brand Chick to host mainland edition of Tourism Trade Fair

The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, in collaboration with entrepreneurial platform Naija Brand Chick, has announced the mainland edition of the Lagos Tourism Naija Brand Chick Trade Fair.

The three-day event, scheduled to hold from October 24 to 26, 2025, at the Whitestone Event Centre, Ikeja, follows the successful Island edition held in April, which generated over ₦1 billion in sales.

Speaking ahead of the fair, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, said the initiative underscores the state government’s commitment to building a people-driven creative economy that links innovation, trade, and culture across Lagos.

He noted that the event is part of the ongoing “101 Days in Lagos” Tourism and Culture Calendar, a series of entertainment-led activities aimed at boosting commerce, tourism, and citizen engagement across the state.

“We are deliberately leveraging entertainment to drive trade, inspired by the spirit of old Lagos, when markets came alive with music, performances, and community energy,” Aregbe said. “Our goal this time is to empower between 100 and 150 vendors and help them achieve ₦5 billion in cumulative sales within three days.”

He added that extensive planning, vendor selection, and marketing coordination had gone into the preparations, assuring exhibitors of seamless logistics, visibility, and full government support. Aregbe emphasized that prices at the fair would remain affordable, stressing that the initiative was about access, inclusivity, and shared prosperity.

The Chief Executive Officer of Naija Brand Chick, Mrs. Nelly Agbogu, praised the Lagos State Government for co-hosting two editions of the SME-focused initiative within a year, describing it as a model for public–private partnership in Nigeria.

“This initiative has empowered countless entrepreneurs, boosted visibility for small businesses, and shown that Lagos is intentional about building a thriving SME ecosystem,” Agbogu said. “I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and excited to unlock even greater opportunities for entrepreneurs.”
