Ondo APC unveils 10-member reconciliation committee after primaries

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has constituted a 10-member reconciliation committee to address grievances arising from the party’s recent primary elections and strengthen its internal unity ahead of future polls.

The committee was announced in a statement issued on Saturday by the state APC Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, who said the move was aimed at restoring cordial relationships among members and repositioning the party for future electoral victories.

According to the statement, the committee will be chaired by Prince Biyi Poroye, while Engr. Bamidele Olanubi will serve as secretary. Other members are Chief Jamiu Ekungba, Rtd. Capt. Vincent Oyepata, Mr Kenneth Odusola, Erelu Modupe Martins, Hon. Babatunde Okeyomi, Yeyeoge Funmilayo Oluwadare, Hon. Mohammed Olawale Mutiu and Dr (Mrs.) Jumoke Aborode.

According to Kalejaye, the committee reflected the party’s commitment to ensuring broad representation across the three senatorial districts of the state.

He stated that the committee would be inaugurated at the APC State Secretariat in Akure on Monday, July 27, 2026.

He further disclosed that the panel will utilise the party’s internal conflict resolution mechanisms to address disputes generated by the recently concluded primaries.

He added that the committee would also recommend measures to reconcile aggrieved members with genuine concerns and foster greater cohesion within the party.

The APC secretary expressed confidence that the reconciliation effort would strengthen the party’s structures and unite members behind its candidates ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
