Sanwo-Olu congratulates Oyebanji on landslide re-election victory in Ekiti

Governor of Lagos State and Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State on his re-election victory in Saturday’s governorship poll, describing it as a reflection of strong public confidence in his leadership.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu commended the people of Ekiti State for conducting themselves peacefully during the election and for supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said Oyebanji’s victory across all 16 local government areas of the state, with about 83.54 per cent of the total votes cast, demonstrated the governor’s popularity and the growing acceptance of the APC in the state.

Sanwo-Olu, who also served on the Governor Uba Sani-led APC National Campaign Council for the election, praised President Bola Tinubu for providing what he described as purposeful leadership and direction under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also commended APC leaders and members at all levels for their unity and commitment, which he said contributed significantly to the party’s success at the polls.

In his congratulatory message, Sanwo-Olu described Oyebanji as a “dear brother” and also congratulated his deputy, Mrs. Monisade Afuye, on their re-election for a second term in office.

He said the overwhelming victory was a reward for what he described as Oyebanji’s performance and delivery of democratic dividends during his first term in office.

Sanwo-Olu urged the governor to remain focused and continue delivering development to the people of Ekiti State, while assuring continued support for the APC-led administration at both state and national levels.
