Retired vice principal allegedly kills neighbour over nylon dispute in Ondo

By Boye Oyeyemi –
A 54-year-old housewife, Mrs Caroline Agoi, was allegedly beaten to death by her neighbour, identified as Alhaji Abdullahi Kasim Ayodele, in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The incident reportedly occurred along Uselu–Isuada Road in Owo after a dispute between the two neighbours over a nylon bag that was blown by the wind into the suspect’s compound.
Sources in the community said the disagreement began when the retired school vice principal accused the woman of throwing the nylon into his compound, leading to a heated argument between them across their fence.
The quarrel later escalated when the suspect and his son allegedly left their residence and stormed the woman’s house in anger.
Eyewitnesses said Ayodele allegedly picked up a bench in front of the woman’s house and, with the help of his son, attacked her until she collapsed.
A resident said the victim was speaking with her husband on the phone during the altercation when the suspect allegedly struck her with the bench, causing her to fall and later die.
Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the suspect had been taken into custody while investigations into the matter were ongoing.
