Annie slams Netflix for leaving out other life stories in ‘Young, Famous & African’

Nollywood actress and wife of hip hop music star, Annie Idibia has lamented that many other scenes that portray other parts of her life stories filmed in the Netflix reality show ‘Young, Famous, & African’ were excluded to focus on her marital crisis with 2Baba, her husband.

Months back, Annie was in a well-publicised dispute with 2Baba after she called out her husband on twitter for allegedly spending nights with one of his paramours under the guise of seeing the children he fathered with them.

The outburst put strain on their marital life and attendant dragging of other family members on social media.

The actress later apologised for her indiscretion and the embarrassment caused to her husband and family members.

Annie and 2Face recently starred in the Netflix reality show that spotlighted their marital struggles and family life.

In the show, Annie in an emotional laden voice reeled out her pains and frustration in marital and love journey with her husband.

Annie told her interviewers on the show that what hurts her the most was the realisation that her first child is 2Face’s fifth despite being his first lover ahead of his other Baby Mamas.

After the show ended, the actress took to her Instagram story on Monday to remark that so many scenes she filmed were left out.

She also appreciated Netflix for the opportunity given to her but clarified that she didn’t travel to South Africa to “plan a wedding”.

“So please, now that the show has finished, who knows that Annie is an actress and not just 2baba’s wife,” she wrote.

“So many scenes were taken out of the show like so many at the end of the day. I didn’t go to SA 4 whole months to plan a wedding. I went there for work. I was there for work.

“I gave them the mother, I gave them the tasking career woman and entrepreneur. Finally, I gave them the wife.

“Told my story as genuine as I could be in all honesty I gave my whole me to it sadly none of those scenes made it to show. [They] took out my work; the main role I pray as a mother in my children’s lives.

“[They] only put out my love and marriage. Regardless all in all I am happy for the opportunity.

“I knew all the loads of work I was doing out there for 4 whole months Everything was taken out too, all the hard work. But let’s all go on with your perfect lives. I gave my all out there but as usual the same old thingy.”
