APC disowns circulating list of senatorial candidates, calls it fake

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a document circulating on social media and some online platforms purporting to be a “Concluded List of APC Senatorial Candidates So Far,” describing it as fake and not originating from the party.

In a statement, the party National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, Felix Morka: “The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a purported ‘Concluded List of APC Senatorial Candidates So Far’ currently circulating on social media and some online platforms.”

It added that the list is not authentic, stating: “The APC wishes to state that the said list is FAKE, and did not emanate from the Party.”

The party urged the public to ignore the publication entirely, saying: “Accordingly, Party members, stakeholders, the media, and the general public are advised to disregard the publication in its entirety.”

Reaffirming its internal process for candidate selection announcements, the APC noted: “Only the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC, acting through its duly authorized channels of communication, is empowered to announce the list of candidates emerging from its primary elections and other constitutionally prescribed processes.”

It also cautioned against spreading unverified information: “We urge all Party members and stakeholders to refrain from circulating unverified information capable of causing confusion, misleading the public or undermining the integrity of the Party’s democratic processes.”
