BBNaija season 11 premieres today with record-breaking ₦160m grand prize

The 11th edition of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality television show will premiere on Sunday, with organisers promising another season of entertainment featuring fresh contestants, new twists and the biggest prize package in the show’s history.

MultiChoice Nigeria announced that the winner of this year’s edition will receive a grand prize worth ₦160 million, comprising ₦100 million in cash and a brand-new SUV. The launch show will air from 7 p.m. on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family, while the 24-hour live broadcast will be available on DStv Channel 198, GOtv Channel 49, as well as the DStv Stream and GOtv Stream platforms.

Speaking ahead of the premiere, Executive Head of Content and Channels, West Africa, MultiChoice, Atinuke Babatunde, said the new season would build on the show’s legacy with more surprises and engaging housemates.

“Big Brother Naija has consistently redefined entertainment in Africa by bringing together authentic storytelling, compelling personalities and moments that resonate with millions of viewers. Season 11 builds on that legacy with even bigger stakes, fresh twists and an exciting mix of housemates that will keep audiences engaged from premiere night through to the finale,” she said.

Preparations for the new season began earlier this year with physical auditions held between May 22 and 24 in Lagos, Abuja and Enugu. Participation was free and open to Nigerians aged 21 and above with valid means of identification.

Media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returns as host and will oversee another season expected to feature strategic gameplay, challenging tasks, dramatic interactions and unexpected twists among the housemates.

The new edition follows the conclusion of season 10 in October 2025, when Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, defeated 28 other contestants to win a ₦150 million prize package.

Eligible DStv and GOtv subscribers will also be able to vote for their favourite housemates through the MyDStv and MyGOtv self-service apps, with additional voting benefits available to customers who upgrade their subscription packages.
