I never defamed Uncle Femi Falana, Falz, says VeryDarkMan

Controversial self-styled activist, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has denied defaming human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, and rapper, Falz.
The response from Otse came after Falz and Falana issued a 24-hour ultimatum, demanding he retract his statement and apologize for allegations that they facilitated a soft landing for controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, during his legal issues.
On Tuesday, 24th September 2024, VeryDarkMan leaked an alleged voice recording of Bobrisky, in which the cross-dresser claimed that Femi Falana and his son, Falz, helped get the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop money laundering charges against him.
Reacting to the letter from Falana and Falz, VeryDarkMan denied defaming them, stating that he merely reacted to Bobrisky’s leaked call.
“I never defamed Uncle Femi Falana, and I would never do so. Uncle Femi Falana is someone I respect greatly, not just because of his position as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), but because of his work in defending people like me, who speak out against societal ills, abuse of power, and government misconduct,” he said.
“I only responded to Bobrisky’s claims. Bobrisky alleged that Falz connected him to Uncle Femi Falana and mentioned something about N10 million. What I said was that I chose not to believe Uncle Femi Falana would be involved in that, and if he were, I would be disappointed due to his esteemed position in society.
“I had the option to edit out the part of the leaked audio where Bobrisky mentioned Falz, but I chose not to, because I want a thorough investigation into the matter.”
