Oyo announces date for 2025 JSS1 admission screening

The Oyo State Government has announced Thursday, July 17, 2025, as the official date for the screening and placement exercise into Junior Secondary School One (JSS1) for the 2025 academic session.

This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, who disclosed that the exercise will commence at 7:00 a.m. across all designated screening centres in the state.

Hon. Olayiwola urged pupils from public and approved private primary schools to arrive on time and come with all necessary writing materials. He also directed principals and heads of centres to ensure adequate preparation and strict monitoring of the exercise.

According to him, officials from the Ministry and members of the Examination Ethics Committee will be deployed to various centres to supervise proceedings and maintain the integrity of the screening process.

The Commissioner warned against any form of examination malpractice and advised parents and guardians to avoid loitering around the screening centres, emphasizing that only candidates and authorised personnel would be granted access.
