The Oyo State Government has approved the conversion of 654 officers across various cadres in the state’s Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), in a move aimed at improving workers’ welfare and career progression.
The approval was granted by Governor Seyi Makinde, who has continued to emphasise policies targeted at boosting morale and productivity within the Oyo State Civil Service.
Chairman of the relevant board, Alhaji Chief Kamoru Aderibigbe, disclosed this in a statement made available to the media on Friday.
According to him, the beneficiaries are officers in sub-officer cadres, ranging from junior to senior levels, who have upgraded their qualifications by acquiring relevant and approved courses from recognised tertiary institutions.
He explained that the conversion would result in improved remuneration for the affected officers and also enable them to attain the peak of their respective careers within the civil service.
Aderibigbe urged the beneficiaries to view the approval as a special privilege granted by the governor and to respond with renewed dedication, diligence, and commitment to their duties.
He added that the gesture reflects the Makinde administration’s recognition of self-development and professionalism within the public service.
The chairman further expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde, describing the approval as an unprecedented end-of-year goodwill gesture to workers in Oyo State.
