President Tinubu salutes 2Baba at 50, praises global impact

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian music legend Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, on his 50th birthday, describing him as a national treasure whose music has inspired generations and elevated Nigeria’s image on the global stage.
In a goodwill message on Thursday, President Tinubu praised the singer’s resilience, creativity, and enduring contributions to the country’s entertainment industry.
“For more than 20 years, 2Baba has serenaded us with soulful melodies, inspired generations, and carried the Nigerian flag with pride around the world,” the President said.
“His legendary song African Queen remains an evergreen classic that introduced the beauty of African music to the world, placing Nigeria at the heart of the global entertainment map.”
The President also commended 2Baba’s patriotism, noting how he has used his influence to advocate for peace, unity, and good governance in Nigeria.
He prayed for the artist’s continued good health, fulfillment, and happiness in the years ahead.
2Baba, one of Africa’s most celebrated artists, has won multiple international and local awards over a career spanning more than two decades, cementing his place as a pioneer of contemporary African music.
