Sadiq Khan celebrates London-Nigeria cultural ties at EbonyLife Place

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has praised Lagos as a hub of unmatched creative energy, highlighting the city’s global influence in film, music, and the arts during his ongoing visit to Nigeria.
Khan made the remarks after attending a cultural evening hosted by media entrepreneur Mo Abudu at EbonyLife Place in Lagos on Tuesday night.
“From Nollywood legends to Afrobeats giants, Lagos’ creative energy is unmatched,” the London mayor said in a post shared on social media.

The event, which brought together key players from Nigeria’s entertainment and creative industries, was part of Khan’s efforts to strengthen cultural and economic ties between London and Nigeria.
“Last night, I joined Mo Abudu at EbonyLife Place to celebrate the global talent and cultural connection between London and Nigeria,” Khan added.
He emphasized that the growing connection between both cities “matters” and reflected an expanding partnership across creative sectors.
Khan’s visit has included stops at prominent cultural institutions, including the Nike Art Gallery, as he continues to engage with Nigerian creatives and business leaders to foster stronger bilateral collaboration.
