Iyabo Ojo addresses speculations about ambassadorial deal with FAAN

Popular Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has addressed speculations regarding an alleged ambassadorial deal with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). The actress clarified that the promotional video she made for FAAN was produced without receiving any payment.

Shortly after the video went viral, Iyabo took to her Instagram page with a detailed post aimed at critics who questioned her loyalty to the current administration. She reiterated that her loyalty is to her country, not any political party.

Recall that Iyabo has, at different times, openly criticised the current administration, highlighting perceived loopholes in government activities.

In her response, she explained that, as a well-meaning Nigerian supportive of progress, she felt compelled to promote FAAN’s activities after observing upgrades in their systems and improvements within the authority’s premises.

She clarified that although she was allowed to shoot freely within the airport, she did not make the video as a favour or payback to FAAN.

She further explained that FAAN officials approached her to publicise the changes they had implemented, and she agreed.

According to Iyabo, her standard fees as an influencer far exceed any potential payment she could have received for shooting at the airport. Therefore, it was not a “trade by barter” arrangement but an effort motivated by “the love of seeing change.”

She added that she would support any political party as long as it contributes to Nigeria’s development, urging fellow citizens to collaborate in building the nation rather than dividing it. The actress stressed that progress must be acknowledged by witnesses, who are also citizens, noting that silence benefits no one.
