Dapo Abiodun showers encomiun as Ogun Head of Service bows out into retirement

Ogun State Government on Friday held a send-forth ceremony in honour of the outgoing Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Olufemi Onasanya, marking his retirement from the civil service on the same day he celebrated his 60th birthday.
The event also featured the send-forth of his predecessor, Kolawole Peter Fagboun, alongside 28 retired permanent secretaries from the state civil service.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented at the event, commended Onasanya for his dedication, discipline and commitment to service delivery, describing him as a dependable administrator who strengthened the state’s civil service.
“You ran the engine room with discipline, loyalty and foresight. You are leaving the service better than you met it,” the governor said.
Members of the Body of Permanent Secretaries described Onasanya as a bridge between policy and execution, praising his open-door leadership style and commitment to professionalism and stability in the service.
Labour leaders also commended him for sustaining industrial harmony in the state. Ogun State NLC Chairman, Comrade Hakeem Benco, said he consistently listened to workers and kept his promises.
In his remarks, Onasanya expressed gratitude to God, Governor Abiodun, his colleagues and the entire workforce, saying his achievements were made possible through divine grace and collective effort.
The ceremony attracted family members, civil servants, labour leaders, retired top officials and associates who gathered to celebrate Onasanya’s service and contributions to the Ogun State public service.
