Tonto Dikeh unveils housing project for widows, targets five families

Nollywood actress and evangelist, Tonto Dikeh, has reiterated her commitment to empowering members of society, particularly widows, through her latest housing project themed “Shelter and Hope.”

The actress announced the initiative via her Instagram page on Wednesday, explaining that the project is aimed at building five bungalows for widows, whom she described as the “vulnerable,” adding that it is expected to commence on June 21, 2026, under the Tonto Dikeh Foundation.

According to her, society is faced with the challenge of widow homelessness, which reflects a failure of social infrastructure.

She described a home as a vessel of memory, a laboratory of ambition, and a launching pad for future generations, noting that losing it endangers a family’s legacy.

Tonto further disclosed that five families would benefit from the housing project, saying it would provide security and restore dignity, while preserving the living legacy of the beneficiaries.

She urged the public to support the project through partnerships, reiterating the foundation’s commitment to community development.

This follows a report on the foundation’s Back to School scholarship programme, through which 5,200 students are expected to benefit in their academic pursuits. According to the report, 3,670 students have already benefited from the programme, which aims to empower youths and restore hope.

According to the actress, the scholarship programme for the 2026 session is expected to end on May 16, 2026.
